Durban’s nightlife pulses with rhythm, and one of its most iconic figures behind the decks is none other than StylZ The One — a DJ, entertainer, and now, co-founder of the dynamic new venture Bozza Brands. In a recent sit-down with Known Magazine, StylZ took us through his journey from local house parties to founding a lifestyle brand built on boldness and expression.

“My love for music started young,” he shared, eyes lighting up. “I was about 11 or 12 when I realized how deeply a beat could speak to me. I’d just start dancing — no thought, just feeling.” Growing up in Durban, music was all around him — from taxis to clubs to school events — eventually inspiring him to craft his own sets at just 15.

He began with small house parties and school gigs, but his breakout moment came on the iconic Florida Road during New Year’s Eve street parties. “The crowd was electric. Every drop felt right. Seeing thousands moving as one to my set — I knew this is where I belonged.”

StylZ describes his sound as deep tech house infused with hip-hop, R&B, and raw emotion. “I listen more than I speak,” he says. “Each crowd teaches you something — if you’re paying attention.” This ability to read energy has made him a sought-after name in the Durban music scene.

But the road hasn’t been easy. “Inconsistent bookings, gatekeeping, the politics of the industry… it’s a hustle. But I kept showing up. I believe in letting the work speak for itself,” he explains with grounded resilience.

Now, StylZ is expanding his brand into Bozza Brands, a lifestyle movement co-founded with his business partner Warren Naidoo. The name “Bozza” — slang for “boss” — reflects a mindset of ownership, confidence, and leadership.

“We wanted to create something that empowers people to own their identity — in fashion, in branding, in life.” Bozza Brands is launching with social media management, branding, and IT support, offering a tailored experience to entrepreneurs and creatives. And that’s just the beginning. “Bozza events, merch, and curated culture experiences are all in the pipeline,” he teased.

StylZ believes his transition from DJ to entrepreneur isn’t a departure — it’s an evolution. “DJing taught me about timing, audience, branding. You’ve got to know how to drop the right product, just like you drop the right track.”

And what’s next? International gigs are on the horizon, alongside new Bozza collaborations that promise to shake the game. “This is just the beginning. If you’ve been rocking with me — stay buckled in. I’m taking this global.”
