Sony has announced the FE 8–14mm F3.5 Fisheye G, the company’s first fisheye zoom lens in its G Lens range for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras. The 8–14mm zoom spans two distinct perspectives: circular fisheye at 8mm and diagonal fisheye at 14mm.

Sony says the lens is designed for landscapes, architecture, sports and video production. It weighs approximately 314g and measures 82.8mm long. The company lists a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m and describes the autofocus as fast and precise.

The optical design uses extra-low dispersion and aspherical glass elements, while the internal zoom mechanism is intended to keep the centre of gravity steady during operation. Controls include an aperture ring, focus-mode switch and zoom-lock switch. Sony also says a two-camera setup with its separately sold VENICE Extension System Mini can support spatial-content production.

The FE 8–14mm F3.5 Fisheye G is expected to be available in South Africa from mid-November 2026, with a recommended retail price of R81,999.99. Timing and retail pricing are based on Sony’s announcement.
