The Advocate explores the collapse of the Coal family’s dynasty, where behind a polished exterior lies a fragile empire. Luna Parks’ troubled marriage unravels under the weight of secrets, only to be further tested by the arrival of an unwelcome guest on the family farm.
As the menacing influence of the Fletcher family spreads across Clanwilliam, an advocate emerges as the final defender against greed and corruption. At the centre stands Cameron Coal, caught in an impossible choice: will love save the family’s legacy, or will it destroy everything built over generations?
Set against South Africa’s tense rural backdrop, the novel interrogates the cost of power, the fragility of justice, and the resilience of the human spirit.
