This milestone year, dubbed “The Power of 50,” celebrated fifty phenomenal women who have made remarkable strides in leadership, innovation, and impact across industries, setting a new benchmark for excellence and empowerment.

A Day of Inspiration, Leadership, and Legacy

From the moment the doors opened, the energy at Inanda was electric. Guests were welcomed by the graceful Zozibini Tunzi, who served as the official host and MC.

Tunzi’s warmth and commanding presence set the tone for a day filled with reflection, laughter, and powerful conversations.
“To be part of EmpoweringHER is to witness the strength, grace, and brilliance of women who are not waiting for permission to lead,” said Zozibini Tunzi. “What we experienced today was a reminder that the future truly is female and it is now.”
Founder Nomzamo Mbatha shared heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, sponsors, and honourees, noting how the event has grown into a cornerstone of women’s empowerment in South Africa.

“Five years ago, we dreamt of creating a safe, sacred space where women could celebrate one another — and today, we witnessed that dream in full colour,” said Nomzamo Mbatha. “The Power of 50 represents more than numbers; it represents legacy, sisterhood, and transformation.”

Dynamic Discussions and Unforgettable Moments

The day’s panel sessions, moderated by Nozipho Tshabalala, sparked deep introspection and conversation. Each dialogue was met with standing ovations and social media buzz that trended across platforms.
Dr. Vumi Msweli and Thebe Ikalafeng’s session, “Sponsor vs Mentor: Who’s Really Making Room for You?” resonated strongly with attendees, offering practical insights on building networks of influence.

“Empowerment is not just about access; it’s about advocacy,” said Dr Msweli. “Today’s conversations proved that when women support women, industries shift.”
