How to bridge the divide between university & workplace
Dr Linda Meyer, who is MD at IIE Rosebank College and also a board member of the Higher Education Committee, the CHE (Council of Higher Education) and SAQA (SA South African Qualifications Authority), says the focus should be on the key systemic issues that cause barriers to employment after graduating – including the need for curriculum reform and the lack of work-integrated learning and partnerships between universities and businesses.
